Live guidance
Live practice lets you ask a question during the session, provided the connection and sound allow it. That is different from pausing a recording and trying to interpret an instruction alone. If you want to clarify questions with the teacher, live practice is worth discussing.
A recording gives you a different relationship with time: you decide when to press play and can revisit a section. But the video offers no individual response. Even when the teacher says “adjust your position”, they are not observing what is happening in your room.
Neither format is equivalent to being physically together. A camera shows only one frame and a connection can fail. We agree the camera position and leave room for questions during the session. Consider whether you would prefer the closer observation available in person.
For live guidance, explore online sessions with me and tell me your preferred times.
My practice before teaching
A moment from my own practice, with movement and a pause before teaching. I recorded this excerpt to share how I prepare for a class.
This excerpt is a recording of my personal practice. In a live online session, we agree a time and can talk during practice.
Choose around the support you need
The useful format depends on what you want to address. If you want to arrange a time and discuss your practice, ask me about a live session. If you want a video to watch whenever you choose, check its source, intended audience and actual offering.
Do not use a recorded class as a substitute for individual guidance about a health concern. NCCIH recommends appropriate precautions and modifications for particular circumstances. General information about yoga does not make every video appropriate for every person.
You do not need to choose online simply because it sounds easier. Without space, privacy or a stable connection, an in-person session may be more practical. Compare your actual conditions rather than an ideal version of either format. Travel time is one consideration, but not the only one.

Prepare space, sound and camera framing
Prepare a space where you can listen, move and speak without holding your device. Put it on a stable support and check the connection before starting. Keep cables out of the area you will use rather than stretching a charger across it.
Ask me how to position the camera for the session we have agreed and what equipment is needed. You can keep photographs of your home private. We can begin with a description of the space and confirm what the format requires.
If you share your home, arrange the time with the other people there. Reduce predictable interruptions and check that you can hear instructions. A beautiful room is less helpful than reliable sound and a frame that does not need constant adjustment during the meeting.
Agree the time, platform and privacy
A live session needs a shared appointment. Tell me the time zone you will be in, especially when travelling. “Ten o’clock” may mean different moments when one person is in Portugal and the other is elsewhere. Include the date when confirming across time zones.
We confirm the platform, joining method, duration, price and what to do if the connection fails. Do not assume that an enquiry automatically contains a video-call link. Wait for the details of the confirmed session and check them before the appointment.
No recording is included by default. If recording is proposed, its purpose and everyone’s agreement need to be clear beforehand. Choose what appears in your camera frame and avoid exposing other people unnecessarily. You can ask privacy questions as part of arranging the session.
Trying an online session
Start with something you can fit in and assess it afterwards. Being at home may help with logistics, but it does not remove every obstacle. You still need available time, preparation and a choice that feels appropriate for you.
After the first session, consider whether you could hear, ask questions and keep the space usable. If the format felt more tiring than helpful, we can discuss an in-person option or another time. A technical difficulty does not have to become a judgement about your willingness to practise.
A recording may have a different place in your life, but it is not the service I am offering here. My public videos show aspects of Heartway and my story; they are not a complete online class library to follow. Use them to get to know the practice, then ask about the support you want.
Choose around an actual day
Compare the formats against a real situation in your week. If you only know at the last moment when you have time, the flexibility of a recording may matter. If you can reserve a time and want to ask questions during practice, discuss a live session with me. This comparison does not make either format suitable for everyone.
Consider your home environment too. A stable connection does not, by itself, solve frequent interruptions or a space where you cannot hear. Test the sound where you intend to practise and check that you have enough privacy for a conversation. Try the setup you already own before buying new equipment.
In your enquiry, suggest two or three possible times and include your time zone. Ask about joining, duration and session terms. If you want a recording to repeat later, ask explicitly: a live class does not automatically include that resource.
PEOPLE WHO PRACTISE WITH ME
Giuliano’s experience of online yoga
In his review, Giuliano describes more than two years of online classes, three retreats and two aerial yoga events.
Arrange live online yogaOnline classes, retreats and aerial events
At an important time in my life, someone recommended trying online classes with Ana, and I was convinced from the moment I met her.
Through her method, she taught me that yoga is for everyone, not just people who can do the poses. She helped me understand that everything is okay and that, with compassion, we can simply be and enjoy it.
We started with a call to understand my needs. Since then, it’s been more than two years of online classes, three retreats and two aerial yoga events.
I couldn’t have found a better person to help me learn to be with myself and appreciate the simple fact of being alive.
Common questions
Are Heartway online sessions live?
Online practice is arranged live with me. We confirm the time and details before booking. There is no recorded-video subscription or automatic library access through a studio pass.
Will I receive a recording afterwards?
Not by default. Any recording must be discussed and agreed beforehand, including the privacy of those involved. Do not expect a file after the session without that agreement.
Can I join from another country?
Mention the country and time zone in your enquiry without sending your private address. We confirm whether timing and format are possible. Being online does not make availability automatic.
Which app will we use?
The platform and joining link are confirmed during booking. You do not need to purchase a subscription because of this guide. Ask about technical requirements before confirming.
Is the price the same as the studio?
Do not assume so. Ericeira Pole & Aerial prices apply only there. Zoom group classes cost €15 per person for 60 minutes, or €60 per month for one class per week. Wednesdays and Fridays, 07:00–08:00 (Europe/Lisbon). Private online sessions receive a separate quote; we confirm details before booking.
